FP LONGO
Loose control, fun skatey turns, responsive while maintaining glide and trim.
The Longo has a fuller nose outline and flatter rocker throughout. I designed it for surfing crowded spots around Encinitas.
One of the neat features of the Longo, is how it can trim and turn from the center, as well as make fun slingshot cutbacks off the tail. However you like to surf it, it doesn't lose speed or feel like a compromise between the two. I like to ride mine when the waves are conducive for a longboard or midlength. At 7'6'' , I can catch pretty much anything I could on a longboard but have all the benefits of the shorter length.
Inspiration:
After riding my personal 5'10'' Floyd Pepper, I wanted to expand that feeling into an all around midlength to surf ankle to shoulder high crowded reef and beach breaks. I probably should have named it "the Mullet" because like a mullet hair style, this board is business in the front and party in the back! The Floyd Pepper Longo has flatter rocker and a wide full nose that gives the board a more usable rail line to catch basically anything from ankle high waves+.
It loves to just cruise and trim from the center... or just by stepping slightly back on the tail, it likes to makes fun, high lines to rapping slingshot cut backs when the wave allows and is super responsive like a much shorter board. However you like to surf it, it doesn't lose speed or feel like a compromise between the two.
My personal FPL is 7’6’’ and I like to ride it when the waves are conducive for a longboard or midlength. At 7'6'', I can catch pretty much anything I could on a longboard but have all the benefits of the shorter length.
Like the Floyd Pepper, the FPL makes connected figure 8 turns that don't slip out or loose speed like fish sometimes do.
The FPL bottom contours feature a rolled hull nose entry, single to spiral vee concave.
Recommend dims 6’10’’- 7’10”.
